Expanded polyurethane, latex, microcontroller, led matrix.
This piece is one of the first three dimensional artworks made by Franco. The strong painting practice during 2011-2016 transformed the ideia that 2D static pieces needed to expand to interactive 3D artworks to expand the possibility of understanding to the observer.
The organic and visceral shapes that polyurethane and latex creates over the surface generates a conflict with the coded and artificial incomprehensible message. This necessity of using a coded light message reveals the hard surface of comprehension between artwork and observer.
Similarly, symbols in images, propaganda and visual media available online, creates a lack of understanding of all of its elements and history. This piece tries to make evident the idea of incomprehension of part of our realities.
